Introduction: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the forebrain stimulation method on listening attention in children with attention-deficit /hyperactivity disorder aged 6-11 years.
Methods: The research method was a semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design and a control group. the statistical population included all children aged 6 to 11 with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder who were referred to Tovanesh treatment center in 1401. In order to sample 20 people in each group (40 people in two groups in total) from among the people who have been diagnosed with hyperactivity by a psychiatrist, they were selected by available sampling method and then randomly assigned in two groups. For this purpose, one treatment group was considered in 10 20-minute Forbrain sessions and the second group was considered as control.
Findings: The findings showed that after controlling the pre-test scores, the effect of the group on the post-test scores of Oudatory attention is also significant. In other words, there is a significant difference between the subjects of the Forbrain stimulation group and the control group in the average auditory attention scores in the post-test phase. Also, regarding the effectiveness of the Forbrain method, after controlling the pre-test scores, the effect of the group on the post-test scores of listening attention is also significant, and this method has been effective.
Conclusion: The Forebrain stimulation method is effective in listening attention in children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and can be used in educational and therapeutic environments. It is suggested that additional studies be conducted to compare this method with other methods.
