Introduction: Using the galvanic skin resistance (GSR) as an index of the sympathetic axis of the stress system is a reliable and common method for measuring its activity.
Methods: In this study, the standard GSR measuring circuit was first designed and built. Then, by using the Stroop test in three situations from easy to hard, the GSR value of 21 Iranian male volunteers was determined. Based on the indices extracted from the GSR signal, the four resting states, low, medium and high stress were classified using neural network and Lunberg-Marquardt algorithm.
Results: This classifier was able to provide accuracy of 95.91% and 92.63% for training and test data.
Conclusion: Lunberg-Marquardt algorithm showed that GSR indices sensitive to degree of difficulty of the stroop test as Causing stressful conditions.
