Methods: 70 students including 40 with and 30 without dyslexia were selected via the random sampling method. The comparison was based on the reading tests, Wechsler intelligence scale of children and the Coolidge personality and neuropsychological inventory for children. Data were analyzed using the t-test. Results: Our data indicated that children with dyslexia had a significant difference in executive function, organization, decision making and inhibition compared to normal children. Executive function in organization and inhibition subscales in male student with dyslexia was significantly better than female students with dyslexia. There was no difference between male and female students with dyslexia in executive function, decision making and planning subscale. Conclusion: Executive function including organization, inhibition, and decision making and planning in students with dyslexia were weaker than normal subjects. Diagnosis of executive function insufficiency and planning suitable interventions accordingly can have a positive effect in prevention and treatment of reading disorder.
